Switching talkgroups via CTCSS couldn’t be easier. Instead of complicated DTMF sequences or additional control commands, a single selected CTCSS tone is enough to automatically switch to the desired talkgroup. SvxLink reliably detects the transmitted subtone and assigns it directly to the corresponding talkgroup. As soon as the tone is detected, the node switches fully automatically—quickly, cleanly, and without any user interaction. This noticeably simplifies the entire operating process: set your radio to the appropriate CTCSS tone, press PTT briefly—and you are already in the correct TG. That’s how straightforward modern analog control can be.
- Simply open the admin panel of the BelgiumSpot or ShariSpot
- Log in
- Click “Adv Conf” in the top menu
- Then click “SVX Config” in the top menu
- Find the section with the header “[SimplexLogic]”
- Look for the entry: “DTMF_CTRL_PTY”
- Add the following example line directly below it:
CTCSS_TO_TG=67.0:TG1,69.3:TG2,71.9:TG3,74.4:TG4,77.0:TG5,79.7:TG6,82.5:TG7,85.4:TG8,88.5:TG9,91.5:TG10 * - Done!
* Please note that this line must be adapted individually. The CTCSS tones can be freely defined as desired. TG1 represents the talkgroup number of the first talkgroup, TG2 the talkgroup number of the second talkgroup, and so on.
